چکیده

In this paper, a thorough review about dual-cubes, DCn, the related studies and their variations are given. DCn was introduced to be a network which retains the pleasing properties of hypercube Qn but has a much smaller diameter. In fact, it is so constructed that the number of vertices of DCn is equal to the number of vertices of Q2n +1. However, each vertex in DCn is adjacent to n + 1 neighbors and so DCn has (n + 1) × 2 edges in total, which is roughly half the number of edges of Q2n+1. In addition, the diameter of any DCn is 2n +2, which is of the same order of that of Q2n+1. For selfcompleteness, basic definitions, construction rules and symbols are provided. We chronicle the results, where eleven significant theorems are presented, and include some open problems at the end. Keywords—Hypercubes, dual-cubes, fault-tolerant hamiltonian property, dual-cube extensive networks, dual-cube-like networks.

Hamiltonian Cycle Embedding for Fault Tolerance in Dual-cube

The hypercube has been widely used as the interconnection network (IN) in parallel computers. However, the major drawback of the hypercube is the increase in the number of communication links for each node with the increase in the total number of nodes in the system. A dual-cube DC(m) has m + 1 links per node where m is the degree of a cluster (m-cube), one more link is used for connecting to a...

Hamiltonian Cycle within Extended OTIS-Cube Topology

This paper introduces a complete description of constructing a Hamiltonian cycle in the Extended OTIS-n-Cube topology. The recently proposed network has many good topological features such as regular degree, semantic structure, low diameter, and ability to embed graphs and cycles. Constructing a Hamiltonian cycle is an important feature for any topology due to the importance of broadcast messag...

Fault Side-Effects in Fault Tolerant

Many fault tolerant (FT) multistage interconnection networks have been devised that tolerate one or more faults. It is shown that the effects of some realistic faults can propagate through multiple stages and cause non-faulty components to behave erroneously; such faults with side effects can cause "FT" networks to lose their fault tolerance capabilities even due to a single fault. The PASM pro...

On Embeddings of Hamiltonian Paths and Cycles in Extended Fibonacci Cubes

The interconnection network is an essential component of a distributed system or of a supercomputer based on large-sale parallel processing. Because in distributed systems the communication between processors is based on message exchange, the network topology is of a great importance. The interconnection network can be seen as a graph and the properties of a network can be studied using combina...

A systematic approach for finding Hamiltonian cycles with a prescribed edge in crossed cubes

The crossed cube is one of the most notable variations of hypercube, but some properties of the former are superior to those of the latter. For example, the diameter of the crossed cube is almost the half of that of the hypercube. In this paper, we focus on the problem embedding a Hamiltonian cycle through an arbitrary given edge in the crossed cube. We give necessary and sufficient condition f...
